Online therapy fits well when

  • Your schedule cannot absorb a commute on top of the session
  • You live outside Charlotte but inside North or South Carolina
  • You have a newborn, limited childcare, or mobility constraints
  • Leaving the house is itself part of what you are working on
  • You simply talk more openly from your own space

Recognize several of these? That is usually reason enough to start a conversation. Request an appointment →

Secure, private and genuinely simple

Our telehealth platform is HIPAA-compliant and runs in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is no app to install and no account to create, you click the link at your appointment time and you are in.

We will talk through the practical side in your first session: a private space, headphones, what to do if the connection drops, and how we handle a crisis remotely.

Is it as effective as in person?

For the large majority of concerns, research consistently finds video therapy comparable to in-person care, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and relationship work. Couples therapy translates well too, and often better, since it removes the problem of coordinating two commutes.

Where in-person is clearly preferable, we will tell you. Our SouthPark office is available to anyone who can get there, and many clients mix formats week to week.

Where we are licensed

  • North Carolina, all clinicians, for clients located anywhere in the state
  • South Carolina. Ashleigh Bryan (Registered Telehealth Counselor) and Kelly Roberson (Licensed Professional Counselor Associate)
  • Services available in English and Spanish

Charlotte and well beyond it

We regularly see clients from Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Asheville, Wilmington, Concord, Huntersville, Matthews, Waxhaw, Mooresville, Gastonia, and across the state line in Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Indian Land and Greenville. If you are physically located in North or South Carolina at the time of your session, we can see you.

Online Therapy: questions we are asked

Do I need to download anything?

No. Our platform runs in a standard web browser on a computer, tablet or smartphone. You will receive a secure link before your appointment.

Does insurance cover online therapy?

Yes. BCBS and Aetna both cover telehealth sessions, and we bill them exactly as we would an in-person session. Self-pay rates are identical to in-person.

Can I do online therapy from another state?

Licensure follows your physical location at the time of the session, so you must be inside North Carolina or South Carolina. Let your therapist know in advance if you will be traveling.

Is online couples therapy effective?

Yes, and it solves a real logistical problem. Partners can join from the same room or from two different locations.

What if my internet drops mid-session?

We agree on a backup plan in your first session, usually a phone call. It happens occasionally and it is not a problem.
