More Than The Letters Behind Your Name Featuring Angie Baquedano

Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve landed here and are taking a moment to get to know a little more about me—not just as a therapist, but as a person. While I’m incredibly proud of the letters behind my name and the work I do in the therapy room, I truly believe that connection is built through knowing someone beyond their credentials.

So here’s a little about me: I’m originally from Wilmington, NC, and I’ve always felt most at peace when I’m near the water. Whether it's a calm shoreline or a winding river trail, being outside grounds me, and I’ll never turn down a good hike. When I’m not working, you can usually find me spending time with my family, my partner, and my two black Labrador retrievers, Kida and Bumi. Kida has been with me since college, she’s my sweet, gentle protector. And then there’s Bumi, who’s still in his goofy puppy phase. He’s smart, affectionate, and has a hilarious habit of sleeping belly-up like he doesn’t have a care in the world.

I also love to read—fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, psychology... but give me a good mystery novel and I’m hooked. Reading is one of the ways I recharge and reconnect with myself. I also love to travel. Some of my favorite countries I’ve visited are Peru, France, and Switzerland. I’m definitely a bit of a history nerd, but I’m also a foodie, so I’m always looking for the best local bite wherever I go. I usually like to have a loose travel itinerary, but I also love the magic of going off-script, those unplanned moments often turn into the best memories.

One of my proudest accomplishments outside of my work as a therapist is writing a children’s book about blended families. That project was deeply personal to me, and it gave me a new way to connect with families navigating complex dynamics. Telling stories, whether on paper or in the therapy room, has always been something close to my heart.

At the end of the day, I believe therapy is about more than techniques and treatment plans. It’s about creating a space where you feel safe to be fully human—messy, evolving, and real. I try to bring that same authenticity to everything I do, and I feel honored to walk alongside the people I work with as they write their next chapters.

Thanks for being here and for letting me share a bit of my world with you.
