Kate van Wagenberg, MS, LMFT
Kate van Wagenberg is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is committed to the personal growth of children, individuals, couples and families. She has a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University. Kate joined Charlotte Therapy Associates in 2011. She has experience working with a wide range of clients in multiple settings such as in-home, medical setting and private practice.
As a Marriage and Family therapist, Kate helps people explore and cope with problems according to their individual values and lifestyles. She believes therapy is a process devoted to growth and change. Kate has worked with individuals, couples and families coping with the following: sadness and depression, anxiety and worrying, problems with adjustment, parenting difficulties, stress, and trauma. She also specializes in perinatal counseling which refers to a woman’s emotional health during her pregnancy and postpartum period. Additionally, she works with individuals affected by fertility issues, pregnancy loss, marital strain, and grief. She integrates methods from many clinical approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment, Experiential, Systems and Solution-Focused.
